Kaneohe Bay
Kaneohe Bay

Took this photo while boating at Kaneohe Bay, HI. The sandbar we are parked on only appears during low tide, otherwise it’s completely submerged with about six inches of water covering it. Always a blast to go out there and if you haven’t I highly recommend it. Also, this photo made Flickr’s explore page for […]

Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas!

I hope all of you had a most excellent Christmas!

Took this photo at Kaneohe Bay where there is a sand bar in the middle that you can boat to. When the tide rolls out a little island appears. This couple was walking way out on the bar and I used my 300mm lens to zoom in and capture this.

Loss of Power
Loss of Power

Last night I was eating dinner with some friends and the power suddenly went out. The music stopped, the lights shut off, and the restaurant went silent. Then we pulled out our iPhones and started eating. 🙂 The power does shut off in Hawaii at least a couple times a year and can be out […]

Tip: Black and White photos make them more dramatic. Also, using a vignette is a great way to draw the viewers eyes towards the subject.

Hearts and Coffee

Just a happy photo for all of you having Christmas Eve in the cold…

Life Gaurd
Life Gaurd

Still with the Bronica, just want to get these things posted. Took them all the same time in Waikiki, Honolulu. This is a life guard tower. I’m thankful for life guards, they’ve patched me up quite a few times.

Waikiki Sunset
Waikiki Sunset

Yet another Bronica photo. I just got a roll developed, can you tell? This is straight out of the camera, no editing, just took the photo and scanned the negative. The colors are brilliant and amazing. I put the sun in the center, I wanted the eyes to be naturally drawn to it. Tip: Consider […]

Bronica at Waikiki
Bronica at Waikiki

Another photo with the love of my life, my Zenza Bronica. 120 Medium format film FTW! Waikiki Hawaii is a great place to capture the sunset, especially in the winter. Lots of tourists for great silhouette shots.

Bronica at Glazers

So, as many of you know my favorite coffee place in the whole world is Glazer’s Coffee. The owner of Glazer’s, Sam Han, is a great guy and an amateur photographer. One day I brought in a Canon Rangefinder that I had just purchased on ebay and he fell in love with it. He offered […]

More Lights than Expected

Captured this yesterday at my favorite Thai restaurant on the island, Haleiwa Eats. Rain in Hawaii ok. Lightning? WHAT?! Never happen. This was a rare treat and I’m incredibly stoked that I was able to capture this. It rained supah dupah hard and the Christmas parade was so podunk awesome! Esp. the kickball league of […]

Cold Day Today

Took lots of pics in the rain today, went back to Shark’s Cove just a week after my near death experience there. Was very cold standing in the rain storm watching the Haleiwa Christmas Parade. Figured you guys could use some hot chocolate too. Tip: Feel your audiences needs and fulfill them. In this case, […]

In the Bowl
In the Bowl

Tip: Sometimes you have to risk your own saftey to give the unique perspective that will MAKE the shot. For this shot I laid in the bowl of the pool in a skate park in Brooklyn, New York. They thought I was crazy… I thought they were, honestly? How can you smoke and skate high? […]

Tip: Try a hip shot sometime with a wide aperture.

for you and your children. Taken at Time’s Square in New York city during the election.

Freddie Z
Freddie Z

Freddie Z sat down next to me and started playing his guitar and singing in central park. He wasn’t busking, just sitting in the park, serenading the passers by.

Pipe Dreams
Pipe Dreams

I took this photo at pipeline last year on the North Shore of Hawaii. Occasionally there’s a photo that speaks to me, this is one of those… I stare at it, analyzing the natural vignette, the position of the sun, the people in the image. It is Hawaii, it is what I love about Hawaii. […]

Nimai Wong
Nimai Wong

Nimai Wong is not only my friend but an incredible photographer that is always down to expiriment with all types of photography. His photos of models inspire and his film shots make me want to explore the old days of photography.
