I used the reflections in the water surrounding Hawaii’s state capitol. It actually isn’t that much water. The trick is to get a wide angle lens and get as near and low to the water as you can. It makes the water look more substantial than it really is.
The last full moon I walked out to Sandy’s Beach on Oahu, Hawaii. These exposures are about 30 seconds long which give the water a soothing, soft milky look.
Just entered this photo into a competition and thought I might as well post it to my blog because I love it. The colors, the silhouette, everything about this photo is beautiful to me. Check out the rest of Jing and Jenny’s engagement shoot.
They’re little feet tickle 🙂 They’re so suspicious of you but they want the food so bad. It’s rather cute, you can see the debate going on in their faces as they swoop past testing to see if its ok. Eventually a brave one stops and lands on your hand.

Hold out your hand with some crackers and the birds will fly up and eat them out of your hands… I took this photo with my Nikon EM and was so happy that it turned out… This is quickly becoming one of my favorite photos… not sure if I can explain it, but just is. […]
Took this in Kaneohe at Valley of the Temples. I love this place. I come here to think, to sit, to take pictures, to enjoy God’s creation. I come here too to take family portraits and engagement pictures. It is definitely a gem that even some local people don’t know about.
The ‘Iolani Palace is the only palace on American Soil. You see it here decorated with lights for the holidays.
Read all about it here. Everything got wet, including my camera gear which is now in he shop for repairs. :-/
One of my favorite hip hop groups “Blue Scholars” came through Hawaii and how could I pass up the opportunity to photograph them in action at Next Door. This is a really cool photo of their shoes. I sharpened the jeans and also painted in more contrast on them. I find that jeans with high […]
Um… yeah, cutest little dog ever! He was incredibly tiny and was leaping up and jumping to reach each step. If he were big enough he would have been pulling his owner up the mountain. The little guy had so much energy. For this photo I gave the view of the image the perspective of […]
After climbing to the top of Koko Head I was DEAD but so happy to see this little guy to shower me with kisses 😉 Cute dogs FTW!
Hazel eyes are my favorite, the mix of green and brown and the subtle transition between the two colours.
Took a photo of this at Kaneohe Marine Corp Base on the windward side. The helicopters were landing literally within 50 yards of the boat docs… so much fun! Like a private airshow.
